Hillary Rodham Clinton, US Secretary of State, met on 6 March 2009 in Brussels with the EU diplomacy. After visiting the European Parliament, Hillary Rodham Clinton arrived to the Council where she was welcomed by Javier Solana, Secretary General of the Council of the EU and High Representative for CFSP, by Karel Schwarzenberg, Czech Minister for Foreign Affairs and President in office of the Council, and also by Benita Ferrero-Waldner, Member of the EC in charge of External Relations and European Neighbourhood Policy. They held talks on the relations with Iran, Afghanistan, the Middle East and Russia. They also talked about the closing of Guant√°namo.
