At her arrival to the Council to take part in the EU/USA Troika meeting, Benita Ferrero-Waldner, Member of the EC in charge of External Relations and European Neighbourhood Policy, made a statement about multilateralism as a track for the United States and for Barack Obama, President of the United States, to act together with the EU. She also spoke about the talks on the closing of Guantánamo.
