Leonard Orban, Member of the EC in charge of Multilingualism, welcomed Arsenal "Double Club" school students. To encourage multilingualism, the European Commission funded a visit by members of the Arsenal Double Club to Brussels. Thirty secondary school pupils, together with their teachers, visited Brussels from 6 to 10 November.
The Arsenal Double Club, founded in 1998, is an initiative which teaches a wide variety of subjects, including modern foreign languages (French, German and Spanish), through the medium of football, using Arsenal's resources and information on players to help teach numbers, countries and nationalities. Hundreds of pupils participated in the 8-week after-school language learning module.
Only the original language version is authentic and it prevails in the event of its differing from the translated versions.
