10:11:03 Joaquín Almunia, Member of the EC in charge of Economic and Monetary Affairs, (in SPANISH) saying that in economy and finances there is worry; the Economic Council discussed how to react to the increase of oil prices, prices of other energies and food, and there is an agreement on how to react; they have to react inside Europe promoting the politics of fight against climate change, the energy policies, introducing more competence so that nobody abuses of the consumers with food prices, making a better use of energy; the less energy we consume, the more efficiently we consume energy, the less we will depend upon an increasing expensive energy; then, it is necessary to treat with justice the ones who most suffer; inside the EU, it is the weakest, the ones with the lowest incomes, who suffer most the prices increase; we have to show solidarity with the rest of the world, the Third World; the World Bank reminds it every day 00:00:57
