In his address to the "Brussels Economic Forum 2008", Jean-Claude Juncker, Prime Minister and Minister for Finance of Luxembourg and President of the Eurogroup, said that the EMU, for all its successes, had not yet resulted in sufficiently robust growth. He also said that the different levels of inflation in the Eurozone had entailed competitiveness problems in certain Member States. Referring to the institutional framework of the Euro and the relations between the Eurogroup and the European Central Bank, Jean-Claude Juncker said that the dialogue was working very well between the two today. However, he added that there was still a problem in terms of Member States appropriating all the policies related to the Euro.
