End production: 18/04/2008
László Kovács, Member of the EC in charge of Taxation and Customs Union, and Meglena Kuneva, Member of the EC in charge of Consumer Protection, opened an exhibition of counterfeit and dangerous goods in the Berlaymont piazza in Brussels on 18 April 2008. Thanks to the work of customs controls and market surveillance authorities across the Union, thousands of dangerous and counterfeit goods are stopped at the European borders or withdrawn from the market every year, thereby protecting consumers throughout the EU.
