Following the EU/Ukraine Cooperation Council, Yulia Tymoshenko, Ukrainian Prime Minister, Dimitrij Rupel, Slovenian Minister for Foreign Affairs and President in office of the Council, and Hugues Mingarelli, Deputy Director-General of RELEX.DDG2 Direction "European Neighbourhood Policy, Relations with Eastern Europe, the Southern Caucasus and Central Asia, the Middle East and the Southern Mediterranean", gave a joint press conference.
Yulia Tymoshenko told journalists that she hopes that step by step, Ukraine will implement all the necessary conditions in order to be given a free non-visa regime for its citizens to travel into the EU.
Referring to the sensitive issue between Romania and Ukraine of the Bistroe Channel on the River Danube, Yulia Tymoshenko said that the issue was raised and that the Ukrainian side has committed itself to solve all the environmental problems which could occur as a consequence of the construction.
The European Commission reiterated that it does not want a quick decision to be taken on this issue which might cause ecological damage. The Commission did remind Ukraine of its commitment to respect the eco-system in the Danube delta.

||Dimitrij Rupel, Slovenian Minister for Foreign Affair and President in office of the Council, saying (in SLOVENIAN) on democracy and the Ukrainian Constitutional Court, that they have welcomed the progress that Ukraine has made towards pluralistic democracy and that they also staged which principles that are the most important ones and should be observed in the transition process; that one thing that they spent a lot of time discussing is the Constitutional Court and the constitutional system as such; that they would like, for Ukraine, use the European-related institutions when it comes to settling certain problems and resolving them.
