Franco Frattini, Vice-President of the EC in charge of Justice, Freedom and Security, received Yulia Tymoshenko, Ukrainian Prime Minister to discuss about VISA facilitation and a future visa-free travel regime between Ukraine and the EU.
Frattini said that he is also promoting a code with guidelines for consulates to avoid incoherences. They talked about security issues and improving cooperation to fight illegal activities in the cross-border areas and more specifically in the Black See region. In relation to Poland, Franco Frattini will ask Varsovia to sign as soon as possible a local traffic agreement to facilitate the movement of people.

Franco Frattini saying (in ENGLISH) that they have just finished a very fruitful meeting. They talked about a number of issues including closer cooperation on training security authorities and magistrates from Ukraine, including closer cooperation on preventing organised crime and illegal trafficking particularly focussing on the Black See region.

Firstly this document will have a validity of one year and if there are no problems involved then it can be prolonged.
