Javier Solana, Secretary General of the Council of the EU and High Representative for the CFSP, and Alvaro Uribe Vélez, President of Colombia, gave a joint press conference. Javier Solana gave a clear support to Colombia's govern policy on his fight against the FARC and said openly that the EU is not ready to erase this group from the list of terrorists. He also said that the FARC must release hostages without conditions. Colombian President Álvaro Uribe thanked Solana for his support and said his government is ready to negotiate the peace.
