The renewal of the scientific and technological cooperation agreement between the European Union and Israel was signed by Janez Potocnik, Member of the EC in charge of Science and Research, José Mariano Gago, Portuguese Minister for Science, Technology and Higher Education, and Raleb Majadele, Israeli Minister for Science, Culture and Sport, on July 16, 2007. The agreement covers Israel's association to the Seventh Research Programme during 2007-2013 and will allow Israeli research entities to participate on equal footing with research entities from the EU Member States.
