End production: 27/06/2007
On a two-day visit to the European institutions in Brussels, Vuk Jeremic, Serbian Minister for Foreign Affairs, held talks with Olli Rehn, Member of the EC in charge of Enlargement. They discussed Serbia's integration towards the EU. The European Union resumed talks on closer ties with Serbia after Belgrade boosted cooperation with the ICTY, the U.N. war crimes tribunal for former Yougoslavia. The EU had suspended talks in May 2006 on a Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA), a first step towards eventual EU membership, after Vojislav Kostunica, Serbian Prime Minister, broke a promise to arrest the former Bosnian Serb military commander Ratko Mladic.
