On 12 April 2017, Jean-Claude Juncker, President of the EC, and the Members of the College of the EC gathered together in Brussels for their weekly meeting.
The College decided to adopt a series of priority actions to better protect children in migration. In the context of the migration crisis the number of child migrants arriving in Europe has increased significantly. This is why the Commission set out a series of priority actions to reinforce the protection of migrant children in all stages of the process. The College also discussed two reports in this context; the eleventh report on relocation and resettlement providing an updated state of play and the sixth monthly report on the progress made towards an effective and sustainable security union. At the request of President Juncker, the College had a political discussion on the basis of a presentation by First Vice-President Frans Timmermans, on a series of legal and political outstanding issues regarding Hungary.
