359 746 views

Jyrki Katainen, Vice-President of the EC in charge of Jobs, Growth, Investment and Competitiveness, gave some explanations to the European citizens on the new EU strategic investment plan. This 315 billion euro Investment Plan aimed to get Europe growing again and get more people back to work.
The Plan was built on three main strands: the creation of a new European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI), the establishment of a credible project pipeline coupled with an assistance programme, as well as an ambitious roadmap to make Europe more attractive for investment.
According to EC estimates, taken as a whole, the proposed measures could add € 330 - € 410 billion to EU GDP over the following three years and create up to 1.3 million new jobs.
