On 11 July 2014, Cecilia Malmström, Member of the EC in charge of Home Affairs, presented MPC Report on stereotypes in the migration and asylum area. The report titled “Is what we hear about migration really true? Questioning eight stereotypes", carried out and published by the Migration Policy Centre, based within the European University Institute in Florence, re-thinks eight migration stereotypes in the light of research findings. The report examines eight common stereotypes on migration and asylum, like ''We don't need migrants''; ''Migrants steal our jobs'', or ''Economic migrants are trying to cheat our asylum systems''. This video shows a press conference given by Cecilia Malmström and Philippe Fargues, Director of the Migration Policy Centre of the EUI, on this report.
