Participation of Viviane Reding, and Tonio Borg, in the conference 'Health in Europe: Making it Fairer'
Viviane Reding, Vice-President of the EC in charge of Justice, Fundamental Rights and Citizenship, and Tonio Borg, Member of the EC in charge of Health, participated in the Conference "Health in Europe, making it fairer" on 18 March 2014, in Brussels. The other participants were Adonis-Spyridon Georgiadis, Greek Minister for Health and President in office of the Council of the EU and Ingrīda Circene, Latvian Minister for Health.
They all made speeches and took part in a question and answer session.
The conference addressed the issue of improving fairness and equity in health in Europe, improving access to health and combating discrimination in health.
The Conference aimed to highlight current issues on fairness in health, access to health and discrimination in health in Europe; to exchange information on policies and good practice in improving fairness and equity in health and combating discrimination, and to propose conference conclusions on common basic principles and values on improving equity and combating discrimination in health.
