On 18 November 2013, Catherine Ashton, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, chaired the 3273rd meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels.
The Council began with a debate on the preparations for the Eastern Partnership Summit scheduled in Vilnius for 28/29 November, including a discussion on Ukraine's progress in implementing the EU's benchmarks for signing the Association Agreement with the EU. The Council also discussed the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and took stock of preparations for the EU/China Summit scheduled for 21 November 2013. The EU Ministers also addressed the situation in the EU's Southern neighbourhood, including in Egypt, Syria and Libya as well as discuss migration issues
