Visit of Andris Piebalgs to the Philippines: 11/11/2013

Andris Piebalgs, Member of the EC in charge of Development, visited the Philippines on 10-12 November 2013. The aim of the visit was to further advance bilateral development co-operation between the EU and the Philippines. On 11 November, Andris Piebalgs was in Manila, where he met Teresita Quintos-Deles, Adviser to the President of the Philippines for the peace process, to discuss the Mindanao Peace Process. They held a joint press conference. Andris Piebalgs also participated in the Eminent Speakers Forum of the Post-2015 Millennium Development Goals Agenda, which took place at the headquarters of the Asian Development Bank in Manila. In the margins of the Forum, Andris Piebalgs met Bindu N. Lohani, Vice-President of the Asian Development Bank in charge of Knowledge Management and Sustainable Development, and Takehiko Nakao, President of the Asian Development Bank. Besides, Andris Piebalgs met Laura Q. del Rosario, Philippine Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs in charge of International Economic Relations.
