Visit of Toshimitsu Motegi, Japanese Minister for Economy, Trade and Industry to Karel De Gucht: joint press briefing

On 24 September 2013, Karel De Gucht, Member of the EC in charge of Trade, received the visit of Toshimitsu Motegi, Japanese Minister for Economy, Trade and Industry, in Brussels. They took stock of the ongoing negotiations between the EU and Japan in order to establish a Free Trade Agreement. As the EU and Japan launched negotiations for a comprehensive Free Trade Agreement in April 2013, Karel De Gucht met Toshimitsu Motegi ahead of the next EU/Japan Summit. Following their meeting, they then held a joint press conference.
