José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, received Edi Rama, Albanian Prime Minister. Discussions focused on the following steps in the EU integration process and on the state of play of the country's commitment to reform in the light of this process.
During the joint press conference José Manuel Barroso recognised that Albania had already made progress towards its future in the EU, delivering solid reform results. He then called for a continued commitment and constructive political dialogue. On the economic front, José Manuel Barroso said that structural reforms were necessary to ensure long term growth and improve the business and investment environment.
