Debate on the Future of Europe, in Sofia: vox pops
On 23 July 2013, Viviane Reding, Vice-President of the EC in charge of Justice, Fundamental Rights and Citizenship, and Rosen Plevneliev, President of Bulgaria, are getting together in Sofia, Bulgaria, to debate with over 250 citizens about the future of Europe. This is the 25th Citizens' Dialogue in a series of events European Commissioners, national and local politicians, as well as Members of the European Parliament are holding across the breadth and width of the European Union.
The feedback from citizens during the dialogues will help guide the Commission as it draws up plans for a future reform of the EU. One of the main purposes of the dialogues will be to prepare the ground for the 2014 European elections.
This video shows interviews with European citizens in Sofia, explaining what they think of Europe.
