Participation of Maroš Šefčovič in the debate on the Future of Europe, in Košice
On 5 October 2013, Maroš Šefčovič, Vice-President of the EC in charge of Inter-Institutional Relations and Administration, and Pavol Paška, Speaker of the Slovak National Council, participated in a debate on the Future of Europe with about 250 citizens from all over Slovakia. The event took place in Košice, European Capital of Culture 2013.
Most questions related to the benefits of EU membership for the citizens, the economic crisis and the vision of the future of Europe. Maroš Šefčovič opened the discussion by addressing the question "What does the EU do for Slovakia?". He also commented on the question of integration of the Roma community.
The debate was organised in the framework of the 2013 European Year of Citizens.
