EU/Russia Summit: opening statements by Vladimir Putin, Herman van Rompuy, and José Manuel Barroso
An EU/Russia Summit took place on 3 and 4 June 2013 in Yekaterinburg, Russia.
The Summit was an opportunity to take stock of the EU/Russia relationship, covering topical issues such as modernisation, visas and mobility, and trade. They also discussed how they wish to shape the EU/Russia partnership in coming years. Urgent global issues, such as measures to stimulate economic growth and jobs, and international issues, in particular Syria and Iran, were also on the agenda.
José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, Herman van Rompuy, President of the European Council, and Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, held a joint press conference after the meeting.
