On 16 May 2013, Kristalina Georgieva, Member of the EC in charge of International Cooperation, Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Response, Connie Hedegaard, Member of the EC in charge of Climate Action, and Cecilia Malmström, Member of the EC in charge of Home Affairs, took part in the 4th European Civil Protection Forum. Connie Hedegaard made a special address on "The Adaptation Strategy as a Contribution to Risk Management in Europe" and Cecilia Malmström made a special address on "The Internal Security Dimension", while Kristalina Georgieva introduced the speakers and commented on the speeches. The 4th European Civil Protection Forum, that took place on 15 and 16 May 2013 in Brussels, focused on how governments and civil society can work together to create stronger, better and more efficient disaster prevention, preparedness and response policies in the EU and beyond.
