Participation of Antonio Tajani in the debate on the Future of Europe, in Rome
On 18 March 2013, Antonio Tajani, Vice-President of the EC in charge of Industry and Entrepreneurship, was in Rome, Italy, to participate together with Gianni Alemanno, Mayor of Rome, in a debate with citizens on the Future of Europe.
The discussion focussed on how to stimulate entrepreneurial spirit. Questions and comments quickly made a connection with issues specific to Italy: the difficulty experienced by SMEs in accessing credit, and the late payment by public authorities for products and services provided by private companies. Participants asked for more help for start-ups, and suggested creating a microfinance programme to stimulate entrepreneurship.
The debate was organised in the framework of the 2013 European Year of Citizens.
