Visit of Enrico Letta, Italian Prime Minister, to José Manuel Barroso

José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, received Enrico Letta, Italian Prime Minister. During the joint press conference José Manuel Barroso highlighted that the launch of this new phase in Italian politics and the start of work by the new government came at a crucial time for European integration. He added that he was looking forward to Prime Minister's contribution to the deepening of the economic, monetary and political integration of the EU.
José Manuel Barroso concluded by expressing his confidence that the relations between the new Italian government and the EC would prove to be rewarding and constructive.
