Launch of the "New Narrative for Europe" project with the participation of José Manuel Barroso

José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, participated in the launch of the "New Narrative for Europe" project.
The project aimed to encourage greater involvement of European intellectuals in the creation of a genuine European public space, as the President had hoped during his speech on the State of the Union in September 2012. This project would have a continuity in three meetings of type "General Assembly" to be held in Warsaw on 11/07/2013, Paris and Germany.
The exercise would lead to the publication by the participants in the "General Assembly" and others, of a Manifesto containing elements related to the values, Culture and History, representing the link between all the European citizens. The goal was to adapt the 'Narrative' challenges such as solidarity, strengthening the democratic legitimacy of the EU, and also the role of Europe in the age of globalisation and interdependence.
