The European Commission's audiovisual services have produced the second part of the EU Research – Horizon 2020 video stockshots.
Part 2 covers the best research to transform bright ideas into real products. The projects are from the EU’s Seventh Framework Programme for Research (FP7) and include top-end research, ensuring food safety and security, developing sustainable transport and mobility and other projects dealing with societal challenges.
The projects illustrated cover:
- COLLREGEN – regenerative medicine;
- MABFUEL – use of algae to produce biodiesel;
- BIOBROOM – biological control of parasitic weeds to improve crop production;
- RADIOPAST – Non-invasive approaches to investigate archaeological sites;
- European Crisis Management Laboratory;
- ELSA RETRO project – research into structural resistance to earthquakes.
The Horizon 2020 Programme, the new EU programme for research and innovation, runs from 2014 to 2020. It aims to tackle major concerns shared by all Europeans such as climate change, developing sustainable transport and mobility, making renewable energy more affordable, ensuring food safety and security, or coping with the challenge of an ageing population. #H2020 SHOTLIST
