As the debate about the future of Europe and the consequences of the economic crisis is gathering pace, the European Commission is reaching out to different European towns to listen to citizens, their concerns and hopes for the future. On 22 March 2013, Viviane Reding, Vice-President of the EC in charge of Justice, Fundamental Rights and Citizenship, was in Thessaloniki to hold a debate with over 500 citizens.
The economic crisis and its impact on people's daily lives, EU citizens' rights and the future of the Union were at the centre of the debate between Viviane Reding and the citizens.
