"Connecting Europe": Conference on the Connecting Europe Facility: Session 2

On 2 October 2012, Siim Kallas, Vice-President of the EC in charge of Transports, Amalia Sartori, Member of the EP, Marc Hamy, Chief Operating Officer of Airbus ProSky, Laszlo Varro, Head of the Division "Gas, Coal and Power Markets" of the International Energy Agency (IEA), gave a speech at the second session of the conference on the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), entitled "Enabling Europe's future growth" and held at the European Commission in Brussels.With a proposed budget of up to € 50 billion between 2014 and 2020, the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) will be a key instrument to promote growth, jobs and competitiveness through targeted infrastructure investment at European level. It will support the development of high-performing, sustainable and efficiently interconnected trans-European networks in the fields of transport, energy and digital services. Within the € 50 billion budget the funds for the three involved sectors are allocated as follows: € 31,7 for transport, € 9,1 for energy and € 9,2 for internet.
