Connie Hedegaard, Member of the EC in charge of Climate Action, gave an audio message on Emissions Trading. In this extract from her statement, the Commissionner answered to the question "What are the tangible benefits of such a proposal?"
The EC initiated in mid-April 2012 the review of the auction time profile of the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS) and proposes on 25/07/2012 a Decision to clarify the provisions of the EU ETS Directive on the timing of auctions of emission allowances.
