Statement by José Manuel Barroso on a call to leaders and Members of the EP to tell the same in the capitals

José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, participated in the plenary session of the EP. In this extract from his speech the President made a call to leaders and Members of the EP to tell the same in the capitals as they did in Brussels. He highlighted that the simple fact that the EC made proposals didn't in itself lead to quick agreements, maybe because there were too many political forces that said one thing in Strasbourg and another thing in the capitals of the Member States.
