En raison de leur manque de compétences et d’expérience, les jeunes européens ont été fortement touchés par la crise économique. Aujourd’hui, un jeune sur cinq est au chômage. Le programme Youth@work vise donc à démontrer que grâce à leur ouverture sur le monde, les jeunes européens ont de l’énergie et des idées innovantes à mettre au service des entreprises!
En Lettonie, le taux de chômage chez les jeunes était de 34 % en 2010, ce qui représente un des plus hauts taux de l’Union européenne. Après avoir perdu son job il y a deux ans, Zane Lase-Lasmane, 27 ans, décida de créer sa propre société: Artbag. Pour ce faire, elle bénéficia d’une aide financière du fonds social européen et des services publics de l’emploi. Aujourd’hui, grâce à beaucoup de volonté et un peu d’aide, elle est à la tête d’une PME qui grandit chaque jour de plus en plus.
