Visit of José Manuel Barroso to New Zealand

José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, went to Auckland to meet with John Key, New Zealander Prime Minister, and Jerry Mateparae, Governor-General of New Zealand.
He then made a keynote address to the 40th Pacific Islands Forum to talk about €26 million in new funding to combat climate change and promote development. The President urged a united stance between the EU and the Pacific in global climate change negotiations and highlighted that it was necessary to continue to maintain pressure on all global partners in Durban.
