Conclusions of the Hungarian Presidency of the Council of the EU, EP plenary session with the participation of José Manuel Barroso
José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, participated in the plenary session of the EP on the conclusions of the Hungarian Presidency of the Council of the EU. The President praised the work of the Hungarian Presidency, noticing the progress made in several fields. On economic issues, an agreement on the economic governance package was within sight. On migration, FRONTEX has been strengthened, and Common European Asylum System should be complete by 2012. José Manuel Barroso also welcomed the conclusions of negotiations with Croatia and the fact that neighbourhood policy was more than ever at the top of the Union's agenda.
