European Court of Auditors future medal drawing contest: handing-over ceremony of the prizes
On 17 September 2010, Vítor Manuel da Silva Caldeira, President of the European Court of Auditors, inaugurated at the Maison de l’Europe in Luxembourg an exhibition of entries submitted in response to a Europe-wide competition which the Court had organised to find a design for its new official medal.
Prizes for the winning entries were also awarded at the inauguration, which was attended by the Members, Secretary-General and staff of the Court. Four main prizes were awarded, together with two consolation prizes for two students from an art class at Michel Rodange High School in Luxembourg.
Vítor Caldeira thanked the jury of six art experts from Luxembourg, and congratulated all participants on the quality of their work.
He then awarded first prize to Nathalie Landot from France, congratulating her on a highly original and dynamic design which will appear on the Court’s new medal in the near future. In the artist’s view, the new medal illustrates what the Court of Auditors represents in Europe. SHOTLIST
