The European Commission is presenting a proposal to improve the European Asylum procedure that aims at ensuring a higher degree of harmonisation and better procedural standards of protection. The amendments are expected to simplify decision-making procedures, thus preventing abuse; and to streamline procedures for granting rights.
The idea is to progress towards the establishment of a common asylum procedure.
