Since 1999 until today the European Union provided 1.8 billion euros in assistance to Kosovo under UNSCR 1244. For the period 2007-2009, a further 200 million euros have been foreseen in the instrument of pre-accession to cover specific institution building and socio-economic development needs in the post-status context.
EU assistance has been targeting projects of relevance for the European perspective of the region and it has been supporting specific development and reform needs as identified in the findings of the Commission's progress reports. The next progress report of the Commission will be published on 06/11/2007.
To illustrate this, the European Commission's audiovisual unit is producing a video stockshot which will illustrate the support of the European Union in areas such as:
- border controls
- minority support
- civil society
- agriculture and privatization. SHOTLIST
