Galiléo

Galileo will allow everyone to place themselves precisely within time and space: its applications will be numerous, from help with driving to maritime and road safety, air transport, public works, as well as, banking activities. If agreement is reached on 26/03, the first phase of development will consist in two main points: The liberalisation of credits: the budget for the development phase is mainly divided between the EU (550 million euro, of which 100 million is already being used) and the European Space Agency (550 million euro). The Council must allow for the EU credits that have not yet been taken, that is 450 million euro. And the Joint Undertaking status, the management structure that will lead the Galileo development phase between 2002 and 2005.
