Wilhelm Haferkamp, Vice-President of the CEC in charge of External Relations including Nuclear Affairs, and Richard Tait, Head of the Mission of Canada to the EC, signed an agreement (in the form of an exchange of letters) concerning the enrichment, reprocessing and stockpiling of nuclear material. This agreement fixes the conditions under which nuclear matter covered by Canada-Euratom agreements can be enriched beyond 20% or reprocessed and stockpiled in respect of plutonium and uranium enriched above 20%.
