These video stockshots were made at the time that the Council of Ministers extended Objective 1 status to Merseyside/Liverpool and the Highlands and islands of Scotland. The pictures show examples of Structural Funds assistance under Objective 2. For Merseyside (Objective 2), the projects include a new Eurorail Terminal and port, business parks on old docklands, new hi-tech industries, restoration of a theatre and a maritime museum. For Scotland and the islands(Objective 5b) projects include a Fisheries college, home made tweed weaving, new ferry boat, infrastructure and cultural heritage centre.Note of information on copyright and agreement with Musicians Union:The Sound and Vision clips featuring the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra must only be used in connection with the subject of Liverpool EC Structural Funds and expressly for use in news and/or current affairs reports.
