L'Unification allemande et les Communautés européennes
In less than twelve months, between 1989 and 1990, the Berlin Wall collapsed and the two Germanies became one. A new Germany is emerging, but the problems of the daily life become visible quite quickly. The aid of the Structural Funds of the Communities to the new five Länder will be over six billions of DM between 1991 and 1993: improve the infrastructures, fight against unemployment, restore environment. The application of the Common Agriculture Policy is also a big challenge. The multiple problems that hit Germany, and in particular the former German Democratic Republic, cannot be resolved within the country, but in a European context.
