European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing1st Conference of Partners - Delivering results for Europe: extracts from the opening session with the participation of Neelie Kroes and visit of the exhibition
On 6 November 2012, Neelie Kroes, Vice-President of the EC in charge of the Digital Agenda, María Pilar Farjas Abadía, Secretary General of Health and Consumers at the Spanish Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality, and Kathleen Lynch, Irish Minister of State at the Department of Health and Department of Justice, Equality and Defence, with responsibility for Disability, Equality, Mental Health and Older People, participated in the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing 1st Conference of Partners, in Brussels.
The Conference was an opportunity for stakeholders who are already part of an Action Group to meet with different group members, collaborate and discover common interests and contribute to the discussion on how to get the most out of the action plans.
Two panel discussions were dedicated to the action plans in the areas of prevention, integrated care, and active ageing and independent living. Candidate Reference Sites from different regions were running a session highlighting the important role of regions in the Partnership by presenting some concrete examples of their work.
The European Commission also provided information on horizontal issues such as regulatory framework conditions and funding opportunities and explained the next steps for the Partnership.
Neelie Kroes also visited the exhibition which displayed real life examples of innovation from different EU regions in this field. SHOTLIST
