Visit of Jóhanna Sigurðardóttir, Icelandic Prime Minister, to José Manuel Barroso
Touring the European institutions, Jóhanna Sigurðardóttir, Icelandic Prime Minister, met with José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, on 8 November 2011 in Brussels.
They reviewed the progress made so far in the EU accession negotiations with the Icelandic government. A majority of the Icelandic public continues to support the accession talks.
Both also discussed the current economic and financial situation in Europe, including the latest set of measures taken to address the sovereign debt crisis in some EU Member States. They also noted the improved economic situation of the country after completing the IMF programme. PHOTOSHOTLIST
