Statement by Catherine Ashton at the "The State of Europe VIP round table: Re-thinking the European project"
On 13 October 2011, Catherine Ashton, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the EC, took part in the "The State of Europe - Re-thinking the European Project" high level round table on "The EU's three ages - rise, decline and fall?" organised by the think-tank group 'Friends of Europe'.
The eighth annual high-level round table is bringing together about 50 Ministers, senior policymakers, business leaders and opinion-formers for a no-holds-barred discussion on prospects for re-thinking the European “project”.
During this meeting, Catherine Ashton made declaration on Arab Spring, the economic crisis and the need of growth, and the circumstances of Yulia Timoshenko's imprisonment. LINK
