EU/Brazil Business Summit: keynote speech by Herman van Rompuy, José Manuel Barroso and Dilma Rousseff
On 4 October 2011, José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, Herman van Rompuy, President of the European Council, and Dilma Rousseff, President of Brazil, took part in the fifth EU/Brazil Business Summit, in Brussels.
The leaders decided to deepen their cooperation in several specific fields such as renewable energy, biofuels and issues related to green economy. The strategic partnership between the EU and Brazil is becoming ever more important. Brazil is Europe's largest partner in South America and the opportunities for growth abound. Europe is one of Brazil’s largest trading and investment partners and Brazilian trade with the EU is growing. Business leaders from Brazil and the EU need to support their political leaders to create a dynamic business partnership and to strengthen economic cooperation between the two economies.
