Opening of the Permanent Representation of Poland to the EU: extracts from the joint press briefing by Donald Tusk and José Manuel Barroso
On 23 May 2011 in Brussels, José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, and Donald Tusk, Polish Prime Minister, attended the official opening of the Permanent Representation of Poland to the EU. They gave a joint press briefing after the opening.
The new representation's building, renovated in 13 months, attested to the intense preparations ahead of Poland’s presidency of the Council of the European Union which took place on 1 July 2011.
It was the opportunity for Donald Tusk to hold talks with the top EU officials on the upcoming presidency and the EU's agenda, notably the financial perspectives.
