On 08/11/2010 in Brussels, Annemie Turtelboom, acting Belgian Minister for Home Affairs, chaired the 3043rd meeting of the Justice and Home Affairs Council, in the presence of Cecilia Malmström, Member of the EC in charge of Home Affairs, and Gilles de Kerchove, EU Counter-terrorism Coordinator. They gave a common press conference after the meeting.
Ministers for Interior addressed, among other things, a number of problems within the implementation of the Prüm decisions which concerned the automated exchange of DNA, fingerprints and vehicle registration data. The Council also adopted conclusions on the creation and implementation of an EU policy cycle for organised and serious international crime, and addressed the issues of migration flows and border control at the Eastern and South-Eastern borders of the EU.
