Informal meeting of the Ministers for Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs: extracts from the joint press conference by Joëlle Milquet and László Andor
The Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs Council (EPSCO) met on 8 and 9 July 2010 in Brussels, for an informal session of the Ministers in charge of Employment and Social Policy.
Ministers highlighted the importance of the EPSCO's role in establishment of economic surveillance. They also focused on challenges due to the extension of working life and creation of green jobs for greatest sustainability.
They agreed that EPSCO Council should play a stronger role in the future economic governance, and on protecting working conditions regarding the demographic change.
