Justice and Home Affairs Council, 3018th meeting: extracts from the joint press conference by Viviane Reding and Francisco Caamaño Domínguez, Spanish Minister for Justice and President in office of the Council, on Justice
On 4 June 2010, Francisco Caamaño Domínguez, Spanish Minister for Justice, chaired the 3018th meeting of the Justice and Home Affairs Council, in Luxembourg. The EU Ministers for Justice examined a directive on combating trafficking of human beings, as well as a Member State proposal for a directive on a European Protection Order (EPO). The Council also discussed political guidelines for future work on a European Certificate of Succession.
On justice matters, the Council reached political agreement on authorizing and implementing the first enhanced cooperation in the history of EU legislation. The relevant proposals concerned the law applicable to divorce and legal separation.
