EU/Tunisia Association Council: extracts from the common press conference by Diego López Garrido, Spanish Secretary of State for the EU, Štefan Füle and Kamel Morjane, Tunisian Minister for Foreign Affairs
On 11 May 2010, Štefan Füle, Member of the EC in charge of Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy, Diego López Garrido, Spanish Secretary of State for the EU, and Kamel Morjane, Tunisian Minister for Foreign Affairs, participated in the 8th session of the EU/Tunisia Association Council in Brussels. The aim of this Council was to assess the progress of the partnership and give a fresh impetus to the political relations between the EU and Tunisia. The EU countries consider that Tunisia is an important and reliable partner for the EU in the Mediterranean area. Both parties reviewed the action plan of the European Neighbourhood Policy.
As part of the political dialogue established by the Association Agreement, the EU and Tunisia discussed also the consolidation of Euro-Mediterranean and Europe/Africa co-operation. SHOTLISTLINKLINKLINK
